Mission 51-I:
This mission was the 20th Space Shuttle flight and the sixth flight of the Space Shuttle Discovery.
Primary Objectives:
The main goals of Mission 51-I included deploying three communications satellites (Aussat-1, ASC-1, and Palapa B2P) and retrieving and repairing the Palapa B2 satellite, which had been stranded in an improper orbit during a previous mission.
Significance:
The successful retrieval and repair of Palapa B2 marked a significant achievement in space salvage operations and demonstrated the versatility and capabilities of the Space Shuttle program.
