Up for sale is an Otodus obliquus fossil shark tooth still in the sandstone matrix. The Otodus obliquus shark is an extinct species of shark that lived between 23 and 5 million years ago. It is possibly an ancestor to the Otodus megalodon, or commonly known as the Megaladon, one of the largest predatory sharks to have ever lived. Otodus obliquus sharks were the apex predators of their time and were even larger than the Great White Shark of today, measuring approximately 26-30 ft long. These Otodus obliquus fossil teeth were found in Morocco. Many otodus teeth available online are sold in a fake matrix which are easy to spot if you know how, but these fossil teeth sold here are contained in the original matrix they were excavated from. They would make a great gift for any fossil collector or collectors of natural items or curiosities.
