Charming terra-cotta wall plaque in the Art Nouveau style by Josef Strnact. According to WorthPoint, his factory was located in Austria, just a short distance from Dresden, Germany. Most of his pieces were produced before WWI.
Measures 8" diameter. No mark on the back, but I believe that the style and design is consistent with Stranct. String wall hanger.
Some signs of chipping/flaking of paint, consistent with age on a piece of this material type. There is a hairline crack running from the rim through the hanger (pictured). I would probably display this piece using a plate holder or plate stand for longevity of the piece.
