Marukyu Shoten Yukata (Butterfly)

A yukata with butterfly design from Marukyu Shoten, dyed in the Shin-Edo style. The fabric is cotton ranro.

The charcoal gray color and butterfly design give it a mature look, perfect for those who want a unique piece. It's suitable not only for midsummer but also for September, when you can wear it with a juban (undergarment).

The size is perfect for people around 156cm tall with an average build. The yukata has a yukitake (sleeve length) of approximately 65cm.

There are no noticeable stains or dirt, but please understand that this is a used item due to home storage. There are wrinkles from wear and folding.

"Tokyo Chusen"

Chusen dyeing is known for its use in tenugui (hand towels) and yukata. Here in Tokyo, chusen is recognized as a traditional industry, and artisans still hand-apply glue to the fabric to create the patterns and dye them by hand.

The most distinctive feature of chusen is that the dye is poured onto the layered fabric from above, so there is no front or back to the dyed fabric.

As a result, the pattern has a unique, soft expression that is not found in printed products. We hope you will appreciate the slight blurring and variations in the pattern as part of the handmade quality.
